This week on courts (Doha, Marseille, Santiago, Dubai, Guadalajara) – 10/2021

Roger Federer is back. What more do we need to say about the upcoming tennis week?

Tennis Week 10/2021

ATP 250 Qatar ExxonMobil Open

Place: Doha, Qatar
March 8 – March 13
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $890 920
Draw size: 28

Roger Federer returns to the courts in Doha. We do not know for sure how long we will be watching Roger playing tennis, so let’s enjoy every second of it.

But this tournament is far from Federer’s only event. There will be at least two equally good players. Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev are here to show up their skills.

Who to watch: Thiem, Federer, Rublev
Our worth the money call: Rublev

ATP 250 Open 13 Provence

Place: Marseille, France
March 8 – March 14
Surface: Indoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $409 765
Draw size: 28

Every game this week will be a bit in a shadow of Roger’s comeback. And it is not fair. Medvedev and Tsitsipas are playing in Marseille, and that could be top-level tennis too. I would not skip these two players from my tv-schedule.

Who to watch: Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Khachanov
Our worth the money call: Tsitsipas

ATP 250 Chile Dove Men+Care Open

Place: Marseille, France
March 8 – March 14
Surface: Outdoor Clay
Financial Commitment: $393 935
Draw size: 28

Cristian Garin is the man to watch. After an early 1st round loss in Buenos Aires, he has a lot to prove. It could be much easier at home, with no serious top 30 opponent except Paire.

Who to watch: Garin, Paire, Tiafoe
Our worth the money call: Garin

Anyone able to walk will be there. Except for the injured players, everyone will be playing in this great tournament. The line-up will make it almost impossible to guess the winner.

Who to watch: Svitolina, Pliskova, Sabalenka, Kvitova, Bertens, Azarenka, Bencic, Muguruza
Our worth the money call: Pegula

WTA 250 Abierto Zapopan

Place: Lyon, France
March 8 – March 13
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $235 238
Draw size: 32

In the shadow of the Dubai Championships, another tournament is played in Mexico. Ideal location and time for young and talented players to shine and get a lot of points.

Who to watch: Podoroska, Blinkova, Fernandez
Our worth the money call: Zidansek
