Twenty-Four Ladies versus Eleven Men [Grand Slam Titles from 2013]

Forty-two grand slam tournaments have been played in the last ten years. From Australian Open 2013 until Australian Open 2024 forty-four men’s and forty-four ladies’ singles trophies were awarded. And nothing shows the difference between men’s and ladies’ tennis better than the number of winners of grand slam tournament singles.

Twenty-Four versus Eleven

Twenty-four ladies celebrated at least once at a grand slam in the last ten years. However, just eleven men split all forty trophies.

The dominance of the best three players in men’s tennis is overwhelming. Conversely, competitiveness and equality in ladies’ tennis are overwhelming too.

Of course, this pattern will probably change. We have already seen in the last three US Opens that brought three different men’s singles winners that the balance is coming to men’s tennis too.
