Tennis week on courts 33/2021

This week tennis circus continues in the US Open series of 1000s tournaments in Cincinnati.

Tennis Week 33/2021

ATP 1000 Western & Southern Open

Place: Cincinnati, USA
August 15 – August 22
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $3 707 500
Draw size: 56

No Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer. But it still will be quite a party.

Almost the same line-up we saw a week ago in Toronto plus Alexander Zverev. That sounds very good. Will we see Medvedev – Tsitsipas match? Or Zverev shows up with his Olympics form? Rublev and Shapovalov will not give up quickly too. That means just one thing: A good week of tennis for all of us.

WTA 1000 Western & Southern Open

Place: Cincinnati, USA
August 15 – August 22
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $1 835 490

Anybody healthy enough will come to Cincinnati. Actually, just two players from the Top 20 should be missing (Kenin and Serena Williams). That means excellent tennis waits for us.

WTA 125 Chicago

Place: Chicago, USA
August 15 – August 22
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $115 000
Draw size: 32

The good thing about watching smaller tournaments during the week with WTA 1000 in Cincy is that you see a lot of top 100 players too. Cincinnati draws out players from the top 60, but the rest wants to play too. And Chicago will be the venue for players ranked from 60 to 100.

Next Week (34/2021) Schedule:

ATP 250 Winston Salem Open, Winston Salem, USA
WTA 250 Tennis in the Land, Cleveland, USA
WTA 250 Chicago Women’s Open, Chicago, USA
