Babolat Pure Drive 2021
Babolat Pure Drive is considered to be the best selling racket in the world. To keep that status, Babolat introduced the 10th generation in September 2020.
Babolat Pure Drive 2021 is not just a cosmetic refresh of the frame (from blue-white to blue-themed).
Pure Drive 2021 remains the racket for power for any intermediate to advanced players. However, it also brings a new level of versatility. It adds improved stability of the frame and new “Smacwrap” technology for a better feel.
Babolat Pure Drive 2021 will be available in 12 different specifications from January 2021 (the first three specs: adult and junior, are in shops from September 2020). Babolat also prepared accessories Pure Drive collection (towels, caps, sweatbands, bags) that comes to the market in January.
Head Radical 2021
The Head will start the new season with a new Radical racquet. It will be released in January 2021, and the reviews from early testers are excellent. The tested version of Head Radical 2021 was lighter (10.6 oz/300 g) and with a smaller head of 98 sq.in.
Head Radical will come with four different specifications:
Head Radical Pro | Head Radical MP | Head Radical S | Head Radical Lite | |
Weight | 315g/11.1oz | 300g/10.6oz | 280g/9.9oz | 260g/9.2oz |
Head Size | 98 in2 | 98 in2 | 98 in2 | 102 in2 |
Balance | 315mm/1in HL | 320mm/1in HL | 320mm/1in HL | 340 mm Even |
String Pattern | 16/19 | 16/19 | 16/19 | 16/19 |
Head Radical 2021 will aim at intermediate players who look for a racket that provides accuracy and an above-average feel. I can not resist the feeling that Radical 2021 is the Head answer to the Wilson Clash. Therefore Radical 2021 is called “People’s racket” by Head.
The sale started on January 21, 2021.
Wilson Clash v2.0
Wilson Clash tennis racket was introduced in February 2019 and immediately became a hit. And I am not saying that because I play with Wilson Clash. I really do not know any player who would have anything praise on the Clash.
Maybe, there were some complaints about the frame’s paint issues, but the playing experience was at the highest level—[you can check my review of Wilson Clash here].
However, the year 2021 should bring a new updated version of Wilson Clash.
Wilson Clash v2.0 will probably bring a few new features and subtle changes. We are really curious.
Yonex VCORE 2021
Yonex introduces the 6th generation of Yonex VCORE. Denis Shapovalov and Angelique Kerber will use it in the 2021 season and the public sale starts on January 15th.
Yonex VCORE 2021 (6th generation) is a spin and speed-oriented racket.
It brings a new frame design with a frame thickness in the upper hoop reduced by 3% for higher speed. The graphite will be embedded in the throat of the racket for better spin potential.
Yonex VCORE will also offer Vibration Dampening Mesh, Aero Trench, and Aero Fin Technology. All technologies focus on easier maneuverability and excellent spin.
The price of Yonex VCORE 6th generation is unknown at the moment. We would be surprised if the price falls below $250.
However, the good news is that older (5th generation) models of Yonex VCORE are on sale these days for great prices.
