Spinshot Lite control panel

Spinshot Lite is an entry-level model from Spinshot Sports Industries. You cannot expect many features and variable parameters with a price well below $1000.

Basically, it serves to drill the practice of one specific shot again and again. There are two parameters you can set. The feed interval (2 to 10 seconds) and ball speed (10 to 60 mph). After switching the power to the ON position, you have 10 seconds to walk to the opposite side of the court and the practice can start.

The Spinshot Lite tennis ball machine has a feeder for 40 to 50 balls. That gives you a good 2 to 6 minutes (depending on the feed interval) practice in one sequence for a full ball feeder. That is a more than average game in a tennis match lasts.

The balls are shot with slight preset topspin, which increases with higher ball speed.

Available Drills

Spinshot Lite does not have any programmable drills or oscillations. It is used for practising repetitive shots placed in the same direction. You can not simulate real match conditions with it.

Remote control

Spinshot Lite does not have a possibility to connect with any remote control or with a smartphone. Instead, you get a 10-second delay between the moment you set the power button to the ON position and the actual start of the ball-shooting process.

Battery life & recharging

The biggest advantage of the Spinshot Lite model is its very long battery life. As it focuses just on one basic function, shoot balls at the same speed in the same direction, the battery dries very slowly. The court time is between 5 to 7 hours depending on the speed you set up. Higher speed dries the battery quicker. However, even 5 hours of battery life is much more than other comparable or more expensive tennis ball machines offer.

Recharging takes standard 8 to 12 hours, which again is less time than we had with other ball machines.

Construction

Another great advantage of the Spinshot Lite tennis ball machine is the construction. Spinshot Sports uses powder-coated metal that gives the machine resistance to damage and stability on the court. Additionally, the Spinshot Lite is very small. Dimensions of 40 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm make it probably the smallest ball machine on the market.

The small dimensions really help in transporting and storing this model. Even ladies or kids can move the machine on the court or lift it to the back seat of your car.
