This week on courts 29/2021

Four tournaments on clay plus one tournament on a hard sign that the change to North America is under way.

Tennis Week 29/2021

ATP 250 Mifel Open

Place: Los Cabos, Mexico
July 19 – July 25
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $694 655
Draw size: 28

Six players from ATP TOP 50 will play at the first hard tournament in North America in the summer. The field will include Grigor Dimitrov, John Isner, and rising star Sebastian Korda. Provided on late withdrawal we can expect fast and interesting tennis in Los Cabos.

ATP 250 Plava Laguna Croatia Open

Place: Umag, Croatia
July 19 – July 25
Surface: Outdoor Clay
Financial Commitment: €481 270
Draw size: 28

Serbians Lajovic and Krajinovic would like to take the title in traditional Croatian summer tennis weekend. Ramos, Gasquet, and “next-Rafa” Alcaraz have the same aim too.

ATP 250 Swiss Open

Place: Gstaad, Switzerland
July 19 – July 25
Surface: Outdoor Clay
Financial Commitment: €481 270

Bautista-Agut, Wimbledon semifinalist Shapovalov, and two clay specialists Garin and Ruud will be highlights of the tournament in Gstaad.

WTA 250 Palermo Ladies Open

Place: Palermo, Italy
July 19 – July 25
Surface: Outdoor Clay
Financial Commitment: $235 238
Draw size: 32

Cirstea, Collins, Teichmann, Samsonova, Pera, and Golubic are favorites of this tournament in Sicily. I am not afraid of tennis with this lineup on hot Italian clay.

WTA 250 BNP Paribas Poland Open

Place: Gdynia, Poland
July 19 – July 25
Surface: Outdoor Clay
Financial Commitment: $235 238
Draw size: 32

The first tournament in Poland in a long time and everybody hoped that Iga Swiatek will play. However, the calendar collision with the Olympics canceled her attendance. That does not mean that the line-up will be subpar. We will see Putintseva and Zidansek in Gdynia plus the other seven players from WTA TOP 100.
