This week on courts (Dubai, Acapulco, Monterrey, St. Petersburg) – 11/2021

Thiem, Rublev, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Schwartzman are all players from ATP TOP 10. They all should play at tournaments played next week.

Tennis Week 11/2021

ATP 500 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Place: Dubai, UAE
March 14 – March 20
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $2 048 855
Draw size: 48

We will see almost the same line-up as a week ago in Doha, except Federer. He decided to train more, and that is not a surprise after his rather weak performance.

However, even if he withdraws there are still plenty of good players left in the draw. Thiem, Rublev, Bautista, Goffin, Shapovalov, Khachanov … I should write 40 names that are really attractive for any tennis fan.

Who to watch: Thiem, Rublev, Bautista, Khachanov
Our worth the money call: Rublev

ATP 500 Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC

Place: Acapulco, Mexico
March 15 – March 20
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $1 204 960
Draw size: 32

This tournament does not have Federer or Nadal (who withdraws due to injury) but will still offer entertaining tennis. Tsitsipas, Zverev, and Schwartzman leads the field but does not forget Raonic, Anderson, Dimitrov or Fognini.

Who to watch: Tsitsipas, Zverev, Schwartzman
Our worth the money call: Auger-Alliasime

WTA 250 Abierto GNP Seguros

Place: Monterrey, Mexico
March 15 – March 21
Surface: Outdoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $235 238
Draw size: 32

WTA 250 tournaments usually do not attract players from the top 20 but Monterrey is an exception. We will see Victoria Azarenka who is definitely the biggest favorite to win the tournament. However, watch also Cori Gauff.

Who to watch: Azarenka, Stephens
Our worth the money call: Gauff

WTA 500 St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy

Place: St. Petersburg, Russia
March 15 – March 21
Surface: Indoor Hard
Financial Commitment: $565 530
Draw size: 32

This tournament will suffer a bit because it is played in Europe a week before WTA 1000 in Miami starts. Many players who played in Dubai travel directly to the USA without stop in Russia.

Still, there will be some names you should carefully watch. Mainly home players (Alexandrova, Kudermetova, Pavlyuchenkova, Kuznetsova) will try to win this tournament.

Who to watch: Mertens, Alexandrova, Mladenovic
Our worth the money call: Kasatkina
