This week on courts (Australian Open Qualies, ATP Challenger) – Week 02/2021

The second week of the tennis season and year 2021 will be special. We get to know the first three winners of tournaments on Wednesday, and also the result of qualifiers for the Australian Open.

Then the tennis world will go quiet for a short time. Check out the schedule of tournaments for week 02/2021 from 01/10 – 01/18/2021 below.

WTA 500 Abu Dhabi

Monday 01/11 – Quarterfinals
Tuesday 01/12 – Semifinals
Wednesday 01/13 – Finals

Who to watch: Kenin, Sabalenka, Svitolina

ATP 250 Delray Beach

Monday 01/11 – Quarterfinals
Tuesday 01/12 – Semifinals
Wednesday 01/13 – Finals

Who to watch: Tiafoe, Isner, Garin

ATP 250 Antalya

Monday 01/11 – Quarterfinals
Tuesday 01/12 – Semifinals
Wednesday 01/13 – Finals

Who to watch: De Minaur, Berrettini, Goffin

Australian Open Qualification

Men Qualification will take place in Doha, Qatar.
Ladies Qualification will take place in Dubai, UAE.

Both qualifications will be played from January 10 till January 13.

Sixteen players (out of 128) will qualify in the singles main draw. Every qualifier needs to win three matches in order to gain a place in Melbourne.

The Australian Open will be played from February 8 till February 22.

Ladies: Bouchard, Pironkova, McNally, Samsonova, Errani, Tsurenko
Men: Musetti, Karatsev, Nakashima, Dzumhur

ATP and WTA tours are on hold for 2 weeks to fulfill the required quarantine before the Australian Tournament Series starts on 31st January (Week 4).

ATP Challenger tour starts on January 18 in Istanbul, Turkey.
