Spinshot Pro Control Panel

Spinshot Pro Control Panel

Spinshot Pro comes with a ball feeder for 120 tennis balls. This capacity is the result of Spinshot construction and is the same for all Spinshot tennis ball machines.

The control panel on the side of the tennis ball machines gives you a chance to adjust four basic parameters.

The speed range can be chosen from the range of 18 to 68 mph. The choice is made in steps and you need to calculate before that 1 step is circa 5 mph.

The ball feed interval range is 2 to 10 seconds and your choice is made on the control panel in steps. This is also the sign of all Spinshot tennis ball machines, that speed and feed interval are shown in units and not in actual metrics.

Spinshot Pro tennis ball machine has a pretty extensive offer of spins. 6 different levels of backspin and also 6 different levels of topspins. It is much better than competitors in the same price category offer, but it is less than the advanced Spinshot Player model has.

Height is set up electrically which is really positive, as you do not need to manually adjust the height of the shots.

Available Drills

Programmed drills are not usual in this category of tennis ball machines. Spinshot Pro offers just simple random horizontal oscillation. That is the only possible simulation of the tennis match exchanges.

Remote control

The Spinshot Pro remote control has a simple two-button design. One button turns on and off the ball feed, and the second button turns on and off the oscillation mode. Any other adjustment of parameters has to be made on the control panel on the side of the ball machine.

The remote control is part of the tennis ball machine package and is free of additional charge.

Battery life & recharging

Time on the court is set at 2 to 3 hours depending on the exact use of the Spinshot Pro machine during practice. I would expect a little bit more at this price level, but I understand that a bigger battery capacity will negatively impact the weight of this tennis ball machine. In my experience, two hours of practice is just enough for beginners and intermediate players.

The shorter battery life is mirrored in shorter recharging times. The usual standard time is 12 to 15 hours. Spinshot Pro is fully recharged in 8 to 12 hours. That is a nice time-saving compared to peers in this category.  In ideal conditions, you are able to have two full practice sessions during one day. Overcharge protection is not obvious in this category, but Spinshot Pro has the protection as a standard part of the charger.

Construction

The Spinshot Pro tennis ball machine has a powder-coated metal box like the other Spinshot ball machines. The main positives of metal construction are stability and its resistance to any damage. The drawback is the bigger weight. Spinshot Pro weighs 44 lbs [20 kg] with a battery, which is a solid burden to carry over. Wheels and retractable handles ease the towing of the machine on the court but lifting or going through the stairs can be a problem for juniors or ladies.

Spinshot boxes are easy to store thanks to their rectangular shape compared to any Lobster tennis ball machine.

Spinshot Pro Pricing & Our Verdict

I have to say that I would expect a little bit more at this price. Maybe two more oscillation choices, or remote control with more functions than simply turning on and off. On the contrary, you will get a lot of choices of backspins and topspins, electrical elevation plus relatively short recharging time.

I would recommend Spinshot Pro to beginners or intermediate players who need and want to practice their swings. The Spinshot Pro tennis ball machine can be a welcome friend for improving different shots during practice. However, if you are a more advanced player who wants to simulate match situations you should turn your eyes to the Spinshot Player tennis ball machine.
