You will hardly find anyone who did not wish Federer to claim the Wimbledon title on Sunday. Even Djokovic fans would accept that Federer is so unique at his age. 37 years and 11 months old and still competing at the top level. They would definitely do not mind Federer taking the trophy.
However, the last set showed that Federer can play above-average tennis but miss the mental advantage he always had over his opponents. Djokovic was not better in tennis on Sunday but was better mentally. That decided the match.
No more Grand Slams for Roger
I was strongly convinced before the match on Sunday. And I am still strongly convinced that Roger Federer will not win another Grand Slam tournament.
My heart says Federer, my brain says Djokovic. I think this is the last chance for Federer to win Grand Slam in his career (I expect this view of mine definitely will be criticized by many Federer fans) #DjokovicFederer

Wimbledon 2019 was his best shot at the 21st Grand Slam title. And it was also his last shot.
He will be 38 in August during the US Open. He was able to win there five times already, but his last trophy is 11 years old. August and September are too late in the season and Roger is not that fresh as he uses to be in January.
Next season we can already write-off Roland Garros. Rafa Nadal will always be better on the clay. And even Djokovic, Thiem and probably few other players can win over Roger there.
Australian Open 2020 and Wimbledon 2020 still give Federer fans some hope. But you saw him losing two final matches against Djokovic this season. Do you believe that Roger, one year older, will be better? I doubt it.
20! What a number
Federer is still a great player. But he is just not good enough to beat Djokovic regularly. He will probably win a few ATP Tournaments (500s or 1000s) but Grand Slams are too big for him right now and in the future. Twenty Grand Slams is the number he will have next to his name in books.
