Head vs Yonex Tennis Racket Comparison

Head vs Yonex comparison is very interesting. In Men professional tennis Head is a strong second brand trying to overcome Wilson. Yonex sits satisfied at fourth place in popularity on ATP tour. However, among WTA professionals Yonex retakes the third position from Head and is on the move. Can Yonex, once a badminton company, be the strongest tennis brand in the future? Not impossible but Head will not let it be without the fight. The product lines are getting a refresh every year with better features. The choice between Head and Yonex is really tough.

Design

Head

Head is definitely the boldest tennis brand in terms of design. Their frames are known for striking colors that catch your eyes. From orange-blue Head Radical via blue Head Instinct to clear yellow of Head Extreme. Head rackets can be hardly overlooked. They are not very popular among conservative players used to grey and black racket frames and white only shirts and shorts, but the younger generation is all in for Head striking racket design.

Yonex

Yonex is using mainly black colored frames mixed with white, red, orange or blue elements. However, the main eye-catcher is definitely the frame shape. The isometric head was introduced in 1981 and is still the symbol of Yonex. The oval shaped frame is not just a design symbol but also increases the sweet spot of the racket head.

Head vs Yonex, my subjective pick is …

There are two rackets I like. One is Head Graphene Touch Speed MP, the second is Yonex VCORE Duel G.  You can check my reviews and found out that I rank both rackets very high. I am used to the Isometric head frame, so the design question is really not important for me.

And the usual deciding point, the price does not work now. The price of Head Speed MP and Yonex VCORE Duel G is almost the same. So why do not pick them both?
